Coal Quality Determination

WEIR provides services to both coal producers and consumers for the determination of coal quality for contractual or quality control purposes. Our services include recommendations for coal sampling programs, including the entire sample collection process from sample locations through laboratory procedures, including equipment to be used.

WEIR can design and/or evaluate sampling programs recognizing ASTM and/or ISO requirements. As an independent third party, WEIR can provide expert evaluation of sampling practices related to coal quality.

Plant Simulation and Performance Testing

WEIR offers services for preparation plant optimization, through plant studies comparing the performance of a plant under a given set of operating conditions and feed product to optimal performance. WEIR also conducts preparation plant performance forecasts in conjunction with a mining plan and product quality to predict clean coal quality and preparation plant recovery.
